Willsmere Cellars is a family owned independent wine store located in Kew, Melbourne. A passion for Australian, International wine, Vermouth and Amari, the cellar holds over 500 bottles and provides expert recommendations and regular in-store tastings.

A long-standing part of Willsmere Village since 1989, Willsmere Cellars has entered a new chapter in August 2026 when Mario Pricone took over from long-time owner, local resident & wine veteran Rocco Montano.

There is a saying in the wine industry that 'great wines are made in the vineyard', and this saying piqued Mario's interest who holds a Bachelor's degree in Viticulture. Mario worked in both the winery and vineyard across the Mornington Peninsula and Yarra Valley including Moorooduc Estate, Ten Minutes by Tractor and Chandon Australia, before spending five years in the wine trade at Rathdowne Cellars in North Carlton, buying and selling for one of Melbournes best fine wine retailers.

The Willsmere Cellars approach is simple: great wine and service with recommendations that keep you engaged with wine. Whether you are a beginner and believe orange wine actually contains oranges, or a wine professional exploring grape ripeness levels of the German Prädikatswein system, we're happy to chat.

Do you deliver wine across Australia?

Yes, however our website shipping geolocation currently has limitations. To our friends in WA, TAS and NT, please contact us via email for delivery and shipping. 

You can also select the option for in-store pick up. 

Can I drink wine in store?

From mid-November, you will be able to enjoy a glass (or bottle) in store. We have created an intimate space overlooking Peel Street Reserve. 

Do you hold wine tastings?

Yes. Willsmere Cellars host regular in-store wine tastings featuring Australian and international wines, producers and regions. Sign up to our mailing list and Instagram to be the first to know. 

I am after something specific, but you don’t seem to stock it in store or online, can you source it for me? 

Yes. Please email info@willsmerecellars.com.au and we will reach out to our extensive network of partners. 

I’m building a home cellar, can Willsmere Cellars provide recommendations?

Absolutely - We can consult, curate and personalise your cellar for your palate and budget.

Does Willsmere Cellars do corporate gifting/events?

We can also set up recurring orders for office fridges, team drinks and entertaining needs. 

Can I hire Willsmere Cellars for private/semi-private events?

We have plans for 2027 to host private tastings and wine education sessions.
