The world's most iconic cocktail bitters, Angostura Aromatic Bitters has been an essential ingredient behind the bar since 1824. Its closely guarded recipe of herbs and spices delivers concentrated notes of cinnamon, clove, aromatic herbs and warming spice, adding remarkable depth and complexity with just a few dashes.
Originally created in Venezuela by Dr Johann Siegert, surgeon to revolutionary leader Simón BolÃvar's army, Angostura is now produced in Trinidad and Tobago.
Featured in over 90 recipes in the legendary 1930 Savoy Cocktail Book, Angostura also stars in the Trinidad Sour, created by bartender Giuseppe González at New York's celebrated Clover Club in 2009.
Recognisable by its famously oversized label, Angostura remains indispensable in an Old Fashioned, Manhattan or Australia's beloved Lemon, Lime & Bitters.
