From one of the Mornington Peninsula's pioneering family estates, Moorooduc Estate Chardonnay 2025 delivers elegance, texture and remarkable coastal freshness. Layers of white peach, juicy nectarine, lemon curd and buttery pastry meet delicate oak, savoury complexity and a long, mineral-driven finish.
Crafted with wild fermentation and nine months on lees in French oak, this beautifully poised Chardonnay reflects the expertise of Kate McIntyre MW and the Moorooduc winemaking team.
Producer notes Pale lemon in colour with a mealy, lemon barley water note on the nose that evolves into aromas of white peach and fleshy lemons and a touch of salty minerality. On the palate white nectarine flavours dominate - juicy with a slightly sour yoghurt tang, followed by lemon curd and butter puff pastry notes. The finish is long and sinewy with some savoury fennel herbal notes wrapping around salted lemon rind. Young and fresh, this would be a fabulous match to fish and chips with a side of calamari rings and a steamed South Melbourne market dim sim! Will develop more richness and mellowness with cellaring.
