La Chiusa Elba Bianco DOC 2025

A captivating taste of Tuscany's island paradise, from historic Tenuta La Chiusa, whose origins date to the late 1500s. Overlooking the Gulf of Portoferraio, this remarkable estate once welcomed Napoleon Bonaparte on two occasions during his exile on Elba.

Crafted from Procanico (Trebbiano Toscano), Vermentino and Chardonnay, the 2025 Elba Bianco reveals delicate white flowers, juicy peach, citrus zest and Mediterranean herbs. Fresh, beautifully textured and distinctly saline, it captures the refreshing character of the island's coastal vineyards.

Distributor Notes

The island of Elba is the largest in the Tuscan archipelago and the Italy’s third largest after Sicily and Sardinia.  La Chiusa traces its origins to the late 16th Century, when the cellars and the old hamlet were built, and Napoleon Bonaparte stayed at the estate on two occasions. Overlooking the gulf of Portoferraio, La Chiusa takes its name from the walls which enclose its twenty hectares of land, mostly vineyards and olive groves. Father & son team Fabio and Enrico Coser of Ronco dei Tassi in Friuli oversee the winemaking. Elba Bianco blends Vermentino with a little Procanico (a local Trebbiano) and Ansonica (aka Inzolia) to make a refreshing Mediterranean Sea breeze white that is crisp with a little texture and good complexity. A great value and super interesting wine with a big side dose of history.
